2025 Activity Plan
In 2025, the Kwacha Nordic Association implemented an extensive activity plan, starting with an Annual General Meeting to set strategic goals and budgets for the year. In the second quarter, we focused on educational initiatives, hosting webinars on property investment and financial insights, along with a team-building workshop to enhance collaboration. The third quarter featured social events like a Summer Grill Party, a welcome reception for SI students and should have also included a "Parenting in Sweden" webinar which was postponed till 2026. The year is planned to end on a high note with vibrant events, including an Independence Party and an end-of-year mingle, alongside launching a new website to boost online presence, reflecting the association's commitment to growth and community engagement.
Planned Activities
As Kwacha Nordic Association our aim is to constantly expand our activities. Below are some of our planned activities for the future:
Cultural Events
We strive to consistently organise cultural events that highlight Zambian/African art, music, and traditions in the Nordics. We plan to have more gatherings like these, with the aim to cultivate understanding, pride and appreciation for African culture. So we can create spaces where people will share stories, experiences and unity.
Examples: Family Day, Women’s Day, cultural evenings and creative workshops.
Education Initiatives
KNA helps Zambians in the Nordic region adapt to life in Sweden and supports their personal and professional growth. Through community webinars, we share knowledge on settling in, career development and everyday life. We also aim to introduce mentorship programs to strengthen networking and cultural exchange among members.
Examples: Webinars on living and working in Sweden, career development discussions, community networking events and future mentorship initiatives.
Entrepreneurship Program
KNA promotes entrepreneurship and investment among Zambians living in the Nordic region. We encourage members to explore opportunities such as real estate development and other forms of business investment in Zambia. Through our network, we share knowledge, experiences and connections that inspire sustainable ventures.
Examples: Webinars on business and investment opportunities in Zambia, real estate discussions, entrepreneurship forums and financial empowerment sessions.
KNA Committees
KNA's work is largely carried out through our committees. The purpose of these committees is to ensure effective governance, shared responsibility and active member participation through a clear division of labour. Committees enable members to contribute based on their skills, interests and availability, ensuring that KNA remains organised, vibrant and community-driven.
All KNA members are encouraged to participate in at least one committee.
The following committees are currently in operation within the association:
- Events Committee
- Communication, Media & Branding Committee
- Membership, Welfare & Community Outreach Committee
